How to order

Tony Beal Limited manufactures various kinds of netting for numerous uses, from the famous knotless nylon "Netpaulin" netting for road transport to the dipped mesh nets for load restraint in containers.
The following shows a selection of applications for just some of our range of nets, as most nets can be customised for the customers specific use.

NETPAULIN

Constructed from 100% green nylon yarn, this revolutionary netting is extremely popular in the haulage trade, due to its knotless factor. This means that should the net be cut in the event of misuse or an accident, the hole will be contained until a repair can be carried out. This is possible only by the special treatment carried out in manufacture and is aided by the fact that, since there are no knots, the netting cannot unravel. The net can be made to any length that is required and is usually supplied 12 feet wide. Also, because of the net's ability to stretch, should a driver be confronted with a cumbersome heaped load, the net will still manage to cover and contain the vehicle, provided that the net is not stretched for normal and everyday loads.
The net is supplied with a 50mm pvc border sewn all round to contain the net from over-stretch and to strengthen the net at its most vulnerable point. Usually ropes and eyelets are supplied as standard but any customisation can be carried out to the customer's specification, e.g. eyelets and shockcord etc.

NYNOTTM (50mm nylon safety nets)

Manufactured from 100% white nylon yarn, this 50mm mesh netting is multi purpose with its unique strength and ability to stretch rather than break. Once again, if there is misuse or an accident and the net should be cut then, as a result of the special treatment this net is given during manufacture, and its knotless characteristics, the hole is contained until the net can be repaired. Nynot™ is also UV stabilised, giving it a better durability in all weather use.
These qualities mean that the net has been accepted and approved by many companies for a variety of uses, ranging from safety nets for the oil industry to (the most popular case) the haulage trade for containing loads on flat bed lorries that have a tendency to move and are difficult to restrain - for example wood or bricks.
The net is usually supplied with a border rope sewn in the hem to contain the net and ropes to tie the net down with a colour coded rope in each corner for ease of use.

SKIP NETS

When we first realised the problems involved in the transport of waste products we designed and manufactured a net with this use in mind. Obviously, there are sharp objects contained in a skip that can cut through any material. When the skip is being emptied, quite often the net can be caught and can end up disappearing with the skip contents.
This is why we designed a netting that would be cheap, reliable and easy to use.
Skip nets are manufactured from high visibility and high tenacity polyethylene fibres woven into a 50mm mesh netting and have a border rope sewn into the hem for strengthening purposes and for ease of use. There are also ropes spliced into the net for helping the net contain the load; and colour coded ropes in each corner for identification and ease of use.

DIPPED MESH NETS

This is a new material that we have designed and implemented for use within the haulage trade as an alternative to the "Netpaulin" material. It consists of a polyester yarn coated in PVC and comes in a range of colours to complement the vehicle livery and company colours. In contrast to "Netpaulin" it cannot stretch, so the net always contains the load provided the load size never differs. Its lightweight form means that it is manageable in any size. Also, due to the PVC coating, the net cannot absorb water thereby keeping it to its natural lightweight, strong form.
The net is manufactured with strengthening points for eyelets and comes with ropes as standard although shockcord or alternative fittings can be used. Another advantage is that the net can be stencilled with, for example, the company name for advertising or as a deterrent against theft.

CONTAINER NETS & INTERNAL NETS

These are mostly used by the oil or haulage industries for the transportation of high value goods, for example computer equipment. They consist of PVC dipped mesh nets reinforced with a PVC coated webbing welded all round the edges or a net sewn together from a narrow polyester webbing.
Both kinds of net are usually made to the customer's own specification as quite often there can be differences in the size of the container, style of hooks used to fasten points and tensioners to keep the net taut. PVC dipped mesh nets are made in a variety of colours and often have the customer's name stencilled on for traceability and as an anti-theft deterrent. They usually have some form of hook in each corner as a means of fastening the net to the container and also some form of buckle to tension the net and keep it taut.
The webbing nets are usually made to the customer's complete specification as there are often many differing factors involved; the many choices range from type and number of hooks, number of buckles to the mesh size required and the width of webbing required.

WASTE DISPOSAL SITE NETS

These nets are designed to suit landfill sites and are manufactured from a high visability netting with a 50mm mesh size, woven from high tenacity polyethylene fibres. They are usually 1m in height and can be any length required ranging from 1m to 500m. A border rope is sewn into the hem for strengthening purposes and colour coded ropes are also spliced at regular intervals for securing purposes.

MAN MADE NETS

Tony Beal Limited also has the ability to make nets, for a variety of applications, from fibre rope - please see Merchanted Products for our rope specifications. Because of the specialised nature of these nets they are always made to order and to the customer's own specifications. Amongst some of the common applications for our nets are scramble nets, cargo nets, assault course nets and gangway nets.

SAFETY NETS

TBL manufactures and supplies a number of types of safety nets, ranging from

Ladder Safety Nets
Traditional Site Safety Nets
Access Nets
Gangway Nets

The 'Ladder Netting Safety System' is a patented simple cost effective solution to the problem of vacant space between the deck and first rung of a back scratcher, which could also be applied on ladders where the gap between back scratcher rungs is excessive.
The net is constructed of 3.5mm braided nylon made into knotless nets complete with a 10mm nylon rope border and complies with BS EN1263 Parts 1 and 2. Each net is heat set to 180°C and ultra violet tested with a product guarantee of six years but a life expectancy of ten years.
The added benefits to the system are; the requirement to conduct 'hot works' is removed, the result is aesthetically pleasing and is semi-permanent. There is no noticeable weight increase on the structure and the manual handling is minimal.
Roped Access technicians are employed for the installation process to ensure the net is secured below the kick plate. This prevents the handrail and kick plate's functions from being comprised.
Safety nets are primarily used for work sites or offshore construction work, where the safety of employees is foremost. The rope is Heat Set to 180 degrees C in order to restrict water absorption and to improve dimension stability yet also fire retardant to withstand a direct heat of 80 degrees C and an ambient heat of 200 degrees C. Nets have been devised to eliminate the need for time consuming rope access only, and to replace the requirement for scaffolding. The net is a secondary system, with harnesses acting as a primary system.
Gangway nets are also made to order and are customised to suit the exact requirements. In most cases, they are purely used in order to provide a safety feature for docks and harbours.

EJECTOR NETS

In an effort to deal with HSE issues, we worked in close conjunction with a national transport company, to devise a system that would work for the cleansing industry. As such, Ejector Nets are nets geared to ensure the safety of employees and public, as well as the preservation of the customer's product.
Customised frames are fitted onto the vehicles and a net is then fixed to these frames. The net is usually an 18mm mesh size 100& nylon knotless netting, designed to stand up to extreme wear and tear, and any cuts or abrasion. Due to the unique construction of the netting, any cuts will actually be contained, to allow the net to be repaired.
Also, there is no chance of products accidentally falling from the trailer as the operation of hydraulic pipes also allows for automatic opening and closing of the nets.

SCRAMBLE NETS

Scramble nets are ideal for children's play areas on climbing frames or for assault courses. They can be made form a number of rope specifications, but traditionally, we use 10 mm diameter blue/red twisted yarn polypropylene rope, but in a variety of mesh sizes to suit individual requirements.
If required, the outside border can incorporate loops to suit a frame, or ties can be fitted to allow fixing to specific points.

All nets are carefully hand finished and supplied with the necessary tensioning and tightening devices to suit customer requirements.
All our nets are manufactured to either the customer's specifications, or to the British Standards. Individual testing and certification can also be provided if required.
